Animator Was #Frozen in Drive to Succeed

There’s no shortage of talent coming out of Cal State Fullerton. On December 9, 2013, art students anxiously doodled in their sketchbooks waiting to hear from someone who once sat in their desks: the lead animator for Disney’s hit movie “Frozen.”

Wayne Unten then arrived. He reinforced for approximately 50 students the value of his animation studies at CSUF and offered insight into the creation of characters for America’s No. 1 movie.

He shared for the students, mostly illustration and animation majors, how he got started in the business and how he works with modeling, rigging and animation to create characters.

As an animation supervisor, Unten works with the animation crew to help bring the directors’ vision of the characters to the screen.
